Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON) invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement of technical and content management personnel under the Assam Unified Portal (AUP) Project. The employment is purely contractual in nature, initially for eleven (11) months, extendable annually up to a maximum of three (3) years based on performance. Roles & Responsibilities
All recruited personnel will work under the direct supervision of the AMTRON Project Manager (AUP).
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive, citizen-facing web interfaces using React JS (Hooks, component architecture, state management) in line with the AUP dual-zone architecture (Citizen Portal and Internal Publisher's Workbench).
- Implement state management, component libraries, and accessibility/performance best practices (GIGW 3.0 compliance) across citizen-facing modules.
- Integrate frontend with backend REST APIs and third-party Government platforms including DigiLocker, Bhashini, and India Stack components.
- Write clean, maintainable code; participate in code reviews and follow CI/CD practices for build and release management.
- Debug and resolve frontend rendering and API integration issues; collaborate with Content Managers and Backend Developers to deliver features in line with project milestones.
Skill Set Required
- Strong proficiency in React JS (Hooks, component architecture, state management) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with REST API integration, OAuth2/JWT authentication, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Basic knowledge of Linux environments; familiarity with containerisation (Docker/Podman) is desirable.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or equivalent) is desirable.
- Familiarity with microservice API consumption patterns — handling service versioning, partial failures, and API gateway authentication flows in a distributed architecture is desirable.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python (FastAPI), following API-first, micro-service design principles.
- Handle authentication and authorisation flows (OAuth2/JWT) and ensure secure data handling in compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023.
- Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) for application data; write and optimise queries and data access layers.
- Debug and resolve API integration and data issues in collaboration with the Frontend and CMS Developer teams.
- Collaborate on deployment via Docker/Podman containers in coordination with the AMTRON DevOps/Infra function.
Skill Set Required
- Hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI (or comparable Python web frameworks) for building REST APIs.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Understanding of API security, authentication mechanisms (OAuth2/JWT), and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities
- Implement and manage a headless CMS architecture using Drupal, exposing content via REST/JSON APIs for consumption by the React frontend and mobile application.
- Develop content models, custom modules, and publishing workflows aligned with the AUP Publisher's Workbench requirements.
- Integrate Drupal with backend services; manage media, taxonomy, and multilingual content configurations including Bhashini-based translation workflows.
- Debug and resolve CMS content-delivery and API integration issues in collaboration with the Frontend and Backend Developer teams.
- Support content migration and data import workflows during onboarding of Government departments.
- Collaborate on deployment and environment configuration in coordination with the AMTRON DevOps/Infra function.
- Maintain and patch the Drupal core and contributed modules, apply security updates, and carry out periodic version upgrades throughout the project lifecycle.
Skill Set Required
- Experience with Drupal as a headless/decoupled CMS, including content modelling and REST/JSON:API exposure.
- Working knowledge of PHP and Drupal module development.
- Understanding of headless/decoupled architecture principles; experience operating Drupal as a content microservice within a broader API-first ecosystem is desirable.

Responsibilities
- Plan, create, edit, and publish content for the Assam Unified Portal, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Government branding and visual identity guidelines.
- Manage day-to-day content operations on the Drupal headless CMS, including content entry, metadata tagging, and content lifecycle management across departmental sections.
- Coordinate with concerned Government departments to collect, verify, and update scheme, service, and notification content in a timely manner.
- Ensure all published content complies with GIGW 3.0 (Guidelines for Indian Government Websites) standards and accessibility requirements.
- Review and proofread content for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and tone, including content in both English and Assamese.
- Coordinate translation and localisation workflows, including content prepared for Bhashini-based multilingual and voice interfaces.
- Support the rollout of new content, pages, and portal updates, working closely with developers to resolve content-related display issues.
- Maintain a content calendar and ensure timely updates of time-sensitive information such as notifications, circulars, and scheme deadlines.
- Assist in training department-level content contributors on use of the Publisher's Workbench (CMS) and content submission workflows.

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; working knowledge of Assamese preferred.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Drupal database environments on MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL platforms for the AUP application stack.
- Perform database backup and recovery operations; establish and maintain backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and carry out tuning, indexing, and query optimisation activities.
- Plan and execute data migration and import/export activities in coordination with the development team during department onboarding.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues including connectivity, corruption, replication, and performance degradation.
- Maintain comprehensive database documentation including schema diagrams, configuration records, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with DPDP Act, 2023 data protection requirements.
Skill Set Required

Responsibilities
- Design visually consistent website banners, hero images, icons, infographics, and other digital assets for the Assam Unified Portal in compliance with Government of Assam branding and GIGW 3.0 visual identity guidelines.
- Create SEO-friendly, web-optimised images in appropriate formats (WebP, PNG, SVG) ensuring fast page load performance.
- Develop and maintain the AUP visual design system — colour palette, typography (including Assamese script), spacing tokens, and component illustrations.
- Collaborate with Frontend Developers to ensure pixel-accurate implementation of approved designs.
- Create content/image assets for departmental sections, scheme pages, and campaign banners as required by the Content Manager team.
- Support basic HTML/CSS implementation for design elements within the CMS publishing environment.
- Maintain an organised digital asset library with version control and naming conventions.
Skill Set Required
- Proficiency in graphic design tools — Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of web design principles — typography, colour theory, grid systems, and visual hierarchy.
- Knowledge of SEO-friendly image practices — compression, alt text, file formats, and responsive image standards.
- Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS for web-based design implementation.
- Familiarity with GIGW 3.0 (Guidelines for Indian Government Websites) visual identity standards is desirable.
- Knowledge of Assamese typography and bilingual design (English + Assamese) is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail, creative ability, and capacity to work within Government branding constraints.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted image and design tools is desirable.
Tenure of Service
The engagement is purely on a contract basis for eleven (11) months initially, subject to performance evaluation, and extendable annually up to three (3) years based on performance. Selected candidates will be placed under the AUP Project, Department of Information Technology, Government of Assam, under the administrative control of AMTRON. The Corporation reserves the right to assign or transfer selected candidates across project locations as and when required. Performance review will be conducted at the end of each year by a committee constituted by AMTRON. Continuation of service beyond each year is subject to a satisfactory performance rating. The review criteria and key performance indicators will be communicated to selected candidates at the time of joining.
Salary
The remuneration shall be within the approved pay bands indicated below and will be fixed by the Selection Committee based on the candidate's assessed technical proficiency, relevant experience, and performance in the Technical/Practical Assessment and Viva-Voce, as applicable to the post.

Selection Procedure
Online applications will be shortlisted on the basis of the eligibility criteria and educational qualification. The list of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on recruitment.amtron.in. Shortlisted candidates will additionally be intimated by e-mail. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process through downloadable call letters. For the posts advertised under combined designations (Frontend Developer / Sr. Frontend Developer, Backend Developer / Sr. Backend Developer, CMS Developer / Sr. CMS Developer, and Database Administrator / Sr. Database Administrator), the selection process shall comprise a Technical/Practical Assessment in addition to the Viva-Voce. For the posts of Content Manager and Graphic Designer, the selection process shall comprise a Viva-Voce along with a review of portfolio/work samples. Final selection will be based on performance in the Technical/Practical Assessment and Viva-Voce (as applicable to the post), educational qualification, and relevant work experience. For the combined-designation posts, the level (Sr. or otherwise) shall be assigned by the Selection Committee solely on the basis of assessed performance in the selection process, provided that assignment of the Sr. designation shall additionally require a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience; remuneration shall continue to be fixed on assessed performance alone. No candidate shall have any claim to the Sr. designation by virtue of length of experience or prior designation held. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the selection process.
Background Verification: Selected candidates will be required to undergo police/background verification before joining. Appointment offered is provisional and subject to satisfactory verification results. Candidates with adverse verification reports will be disqualified from the selection process.
